    Momo prototipo 1970 - 1973 steering wheel + hub + button

    Hi all,

I am relatively new in the Momo steering wheel world but I believe this is a very rare find. This 350 mm wheel has been very well preserved. The leather and stitching is genuine and in very good condition. I can not discern any imperfection except the nice patine condition. The wheel is a second generation wheel and was made in the 1970-1973 (1974-1976 corrected) period. A perfect wheel for a LWB car. I bought this wheel a while ago from a porsche collector in Germany. It caught my eye because of its nice condition and vintage look. It has only been used occasionally. The spokes are immaculate and the wheel is straight. The wheel comes with a nice small crest horn button with some tiny little scratches. The hub says 230 and is perfect to mount the steering wheel in your porsche easily. I like the hub very much it makes your wheel more closer to you which is ideal in my opinion. The site “patipatina.com” offers a nice overview of momo prototipo wheels. See for yourself.

I believe 1000$ is a fair price for this wheel but I do invite any momo experts to give their opinion. The price includes the wheel, the hub, the crest and world wide shipping. I am also open for offers to sell the items separately.59963B56-A3A7-4693-8092-733E376561A7.jpgE833C310-6A00-4823-9BC6-98F26FDD4130.jpgB46765CF-D172-417E-94B6-C99C88034549.jpgBBD4AAA4-E048-482D-816A-C409D9E08CC7.jpgBB392F2C-4D77-474A-A22A-B9F714AB3765.jpgC383B4B6-7E9A-468F-88D0-E2FC4AC7E020.jpg0EE315B4-2B3C-4405-83C9-9EEAD2882D74.jpgB0EAF791-8BD8-4063-8DA9-8D31185171F4.jpgE0ADE7F5-5F47-4B17-950F-D45FEA4BC0C5.jpg

A very nice wheel indeed, perhaps would need to be flat to be worth the asking price.

Not sure, but this version (w/ “Made in Italy” stamp on back) may have come a little later (after 74)…great wheel and price. BLWS.

Thank you gentlemen for your comments. Maybe flat wheels are more valuable? I don’t know I certainly can not see this looking at the current prototipo wheels for sale. Personally I like the dished version better because it is closer to the driver but that’s personal.

If I study the internet about the date of manufacturing you are probably right the wheel might be a 74-76 wheel. Still rare but unfortunately not 70-73. I did send the patipatina people an email to ask them their opinion.

Thank again for the interest and I am open for offers.

Yes, a fast response from Mads from patipatina.com. It’s a 1974-1976 steeringwheel. Thank you Cruisingnkali for your comment on this.

Ps the patipatina site is a fantastic site and clearly a porsche lover also. It’s a joy to check it out.

Price steeringwheel is adjusted to 1000$

Hi, would you be prepared to sell the wheel separately to the hub and horn button?
