    lou beckwith's 1969 911S

    hello,

with the help of some great forum members, I was able to get the kardex of my newly acquired 1969 911S. It turns out that the original delivery address is only 3 miles away from where I currently live in palo alto.

i did some digging in the original owner, Lou Beckwith. He's mentioned a handful of times in the PCA GGR Nugget publications. Unfortunately in the 02/2002 publication, it was mentioned that he passed.

anyone here remember Lou Beckwith and his 1969 Tangerine 911S? apparently he was pretty involved in PCA GGR in the 60s, 70s and 80s and was known as Mr Tennis Shoes because he wore tennis shoes with racing tape everywhere he went.

    thanks!

The car was originally tangerine but was repainted silver in the early 2000s. The car is currently with Tom up in Grass Valley getting an engine and transmission rebuild along with brakes and suspension refresh

The car came with some old polaroids.

here's some pics of the car currently, only photos I have are it going to the mechanics or at the mechanics haha. I haven't driven it too much the brakes calipers bind a bit and it wasn't idling well.

at RMG to get at least running, dan was able to get it running and idling, drove it locally a little bit before sending it up to tom:

towed from palo alto to grass valley to tom:

he found a small piece of metal in the mesh when draining the oil, he thinks it could be part of a piston skirt so we're doing an engine rebuild along with lots of other stuff. i told tom that I want to be able to take it on a tour around the states when i get it back so he's doing the whole workup

Not sure if it's the same car... registered as a 2.4 S ... maybe that was the rebuild ?
