    Color on 67S fan shroud?

    Hello
Anybody know the color recepy which were used on the red 67S and 68S shrouds?
Or are there any body colors out there which are similar?

Or do anyone have a 2.0S or 2.2S original red shroud spare...🤔

The 67S shrouds were a darker, deeper red than all later S shrouds.
Side-by-side, a 67S shroud will make a later S shroud look somewhat orange. And the shrouds were colored, not painted.

The shroud holes for the ignition cables also differed between 67S and 68S, making them easy to identify.

    Red 67S shroud

Thanks for input Jon and Doigthom! Is this shroud from eBay correct type for 67S?

No, that's shroud for CIS, not carburetors or even MFI. It's also designed for an engine-mounted ignition coil.
It will work on a 67S engine, and has a better pathway for the oil cooler air, but it needs additional pieces and isn't period correct.

Here's an original dark red 67S shroud... https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...nal-fan-shroud
    Here's an original orange-red 68S shroud... https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...shroud-68-only

Thanks for very good information Jon! I consider using a later shroud with the better pathway to cooler, but will have to be painted correct 67S red. I am building a S-spec engine based on an early 68T alu case so will be a bastard either way.

Here's a 68S engine I built for a track car, using a very nice unrestored CIS shroud for its better air path to the cooler.
It requires the additional gray piece above the cooler, and an air guide behind the alternator.

I wouldn't paint a shroud, it never looks good to me.
That eBay shroud looks painted, in addition to being misrepresented and overpriced.

Thanks Jon! Looks great! 2.7S(cis) has red shroud? The color looks more red than the LWB red/orange S?
Easier to source a 2.7 shroud than 2.0-2.4S item.

    That's the common red/orange S shroud color from 68-on.
The red/orange CIS shrouds were used on 3-liter SC engines as well, so they're not hard to find.
