    2.4l w/CIS running rough & missing

My 2.4l CIS has been in storage for about 4 months over the summer. Before storage it ran great, but once started after storage, it was hard to start and took longer than normal to get running and up to idle. It now runs rough and misses, although it has all of its power. Any suggestions as to what might have changed over storage and diagnosis? Thanks - Mike

The most likely would of course be old fuel in the injectors. Suggest you use injector cleaner in the fuel and then take it on a long trip.

I would open each fuel line connection, one by one, starting at the tank.
Then the pump, Let it flow out, turn key, see how it pumps into a cup. Reconnect.
then at the fuel filter, I would disconnect, and turn key, and push fuel into a cup, replace fuel filter, disconnect a few more.

I would evaluate flow at each open connection,
Eventually, I would pull out the injectors and see how they flow.

That way you can investigate the fuel side, rule it out, and renew a few things there.
Before you get into more detail and expensive stuff.

Debris can settle in that time.

I had to completely strip a 74 cis tank, it wouldn’t flow at all…. and put in an epoxy.
The gas that came out was black sand, (black rust particles)
