Hi
So... we have a 68 911 that has a intermittent sticking ignition switch- it burned up the starter and damaged the flywheel. The car has a gray colored wire going to the 5th spade connection on the back of the switch. A new Bosch ignition switch 0 342 309 005 is only has 4 positions for spade connectors instead of 5.
When we activate the old switch (behaving normally) there is 30 (full time power) to the gray wire in the off position and no power going to the gray wire spade in the running, or starting position
We left the gray wire off the new switch and the car does not start; just turns over and over. We supplied a separate 12v source to the gray wire in the crank and start position - just experimenting, and the car won't start
Supplying 12 volts in the off position to the gray wire, and of course disconnecting it while in crank of start and of course it does not start

Is there a work around for this? Confused in L.A.
thanks in advance
Dave
