Why would any Porschephile destroy a perfectly designed and balanced 912 by adding a "Boat Anchor" in the rear end ?

If you drove my 69 with a 2.5 911motor you might know.. Easy 8K rpm, and a nice flat torque curve. Not as good mpg as a 912motor though. I haven’t seen too many broken 911 cranks or spit out valve seats. My first 356 was a 52 coupe that previously had a turbo Corvair motor installed. The tires were so narrow but some Porschephile thought it was worth trying. I’m reasonably certain that person was Tippy Lipe who won the 52 Bridehampton 1500cc national race with it and ruined a perfectly good Cooper by installing a 356 motor, they called it a Pooper.

Having been into Porsche for 30 Plus years and having previously owned both an "88 Carrera 3.2 L Sunroof Coupe w/ Tail and followed up by a 1972 911 S 2.4 L Sunroof Coupe and now in Retirement I tinker w/ 1968 912 w/ 1720 CC w/ Compu-Fire Ignition on 4.5 x 15 Vredesteins. Now, neither earlier 911 were able to be driven anywhere near their limits "Legally" on the public roads. However, the 912 can be driven closer to its Limits w/o having to surrender my License to DMV. It is quite fun on "B" Roads here in Montana between April-October. BTW, I can also perform most "all Maintenance" w/o calling upon a Porsche Specialist. Having sampled all 3 models, I prefer the 912 for its "Handling" not its Acceleration.
BTW/ my Daily Driver is a Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited JL 4x4 for both on and off road, hunting and fishing truck.
When you Mature further you will Figure it Out !
