WTB: 1973 Bilstein green dot jack

    Hi guys and girls,

I am looking for a Bilstein green dot jack that was used in the 1972/ 1973 years with the rounded handle (like a lollipop).

Images attached from a previous post of one for sale here.

look at the photo of the jack in your owners manual. it's a B&W photo but tell me if you think the "dot" is green.

From memory the dot on the 73 drivers manual is light (probably yellow) with distinctive words “up” and “down” but they are rare. Also the manuals sometimes are not always representative of what made it to scale production. Having said that I previously posted picture of one I have that is like the 73 British original manual (that’s not for sale)

My original looked just like the one in the pictures. Green dot and all.
Lots of versions out there and the dealers got the kits mixed up at times.

This is the photo in the model year 73 drivers manual that came with my early ie 72 built RS. The manual is it’s genuine original Drivers Manual which is name on English British market edition with the .20 print reference suffix The Jack illustrated in that booklet has a lollipop (not tear) shaped handle. It is hard to make out the writing on the dot in image but on my Jack it clearly says “up down” on the dot — although the image is black and white it appears to be lighter hue dot than might be expected if the commonly seen green dot without lettering. I can’t find the photos I posted previously of my yellow dot “up & down” lollipop but there are examples of that on this forum. The dot is certainly yellow with black lettering; not age or sun faded green. As said handbook literature not always representative but yellow with up down jacks as illustrated in literature seem less common than green lollipop or tear shape.

Presumably some but maybe not many got the yellow ones with black lettering advising how to raise or lower.

    Green dot for Bilstein

Hope you'll don't mind to add some pictures from my two 73 and on(?) Bilstein jacks. Almost identical except for the horizontal lift piece. Feet size is the same although looks different ion the picture. Any idea which one is correct for the the 73 911? If one is correct, what car make did used the other one?

    Regards,
    Cees

Always learning something with these cars.
Subtle differences between them. I have no idea what is the appropriate year car they are intended for.

    Cheers and Happy Holidays,

    Woody
