    Information regarding engine case origin

    Hi all,

Long time reader, first time poster. I currently own a 1972 911s. In the 80s it was converted to RS spec and was raced here in New Zealand. At some point in the late 90s the original engine was sacrificed to the motoring gods. It currently has a 2.7 "race" engine which is great fun. I'm trying to put together its history. The engine case number is: 961345. Can anyone give any information of the origin of the case and who may have built up the engine?

    Cheers

    Martyn

    Hi Martyn
I cant help with who may have built it (I presume in NZ?) but the case has come from a 1967 9111S made in about February 1967

Thanks for the quick reply Hugh (sorry about my tardiness). I thought I'd gone through all the engine case lists but this "quirk" had escaped me. Have a good weekend.
