    Wiring harness tail light

The wiring harness for the tail light has 5 short wires, which are for the light unit, a mass cable with an o-fitting (which I think has to be connected to one of the bolds of the rear bumper to the body) and 3 longer wires.
What is the use of these longer wires (on the left side of the car)?

I believe these are for rear fog light ….mostly European
These wires are usually bundle wrapped with tape not used for US cars

maybe a universal harness, could be used for either side rather than carrying two different ones?
