    Webers and date stampings

I have searched for info regarding date stamps for weber carburetors. It seems like after ca 69-70 webers for after market got the on letter and one number stamping.
But anyone know what this code meens? Would 1A be January 70 etc?

Webers installed at the factory used numeric serial numbers from one character through four characters. Each type of Weber re-set the serial numbers: these types are: 46IDA, and 40mm: IDA, IDS, IDAP, IDT, IDTP, IDTP1. Webers sold to the general market used a two character, alpha/numeric "serial number". Since these were aftermarket items it is unknown to me what significance the two characters represent. If they were installed as OEM carbs then it would be somewhat easier to identify application by serial numbers.
