Thread: New hockey puck way off center

New hockey puck way off center

I bought a 400mm wood wheel and hockey stick puck from SM. It replaced my 420 mm plastic wheel. The wheel is slightly off center where I will need to adjust the tow just a bit. The hockey stick puck is way off center as for the Porsche crest being straight up and down. The puck is as it should be to cancel turn signals, so I know it's in the proper position. Is there a way to adjust the horn pad? I'm baffled it could be off this far. Sorry for crooked picture, it's straight on my desktop. Thanks!!

Try pushing just the leather pad down and twist in position at the same time.

That's what I thought. I mean it makes sense, but it doesn't turn. I'm afraid of pushing too hard.

There are three screws under the horn buffer. Loosen and rotate the innards so that you get closer, then do as Mike said.

Should turn if you push hard enough to separate leather from the trim ring. Looks like a reproduction hockey puck, yes? If yes, you may have to take it apart to move it because not sure how those pads are attached on the repros.

Is it a repro wheel? Could have something to do with that?

Unless it’s the angle of the photo, the wood does look chunky/fat. VDM wood wheels are on the slender/thinner side. I have two alu and one steel and they are all 420mm

I was able to spin the leather on mine, an old old stock one I had laying around that was off by 15 or 20 degrees. Palm of my hand, some slight pressure, and a twist was all it took.

remove the wheel from the steering rod, turn it 180 degrees and try again.
