VHT Chassis black paint on suspension components

    Hi,

I am toying with how to finish the suspension components and replicate the original black paint that was applied at factory. VHT Chassis black looks great and very similar to the factory paint used on my 68 912. Has anyone used this and have any feedback on longevity this product. I don't want to powder coat so the other option is doing it in the booth with a PPG product. Any help gratefully received.

Below are my four "Go-to" paints if I spay from a can. Personally I like the VHT Epoxy a little better than the "Chassis/roll bar paint". Same color but sprays easier and seems more durable. I just spayed an ash tray I sandblasted with it and it came out great. Used a SEM primer under it with good results. I find though the Eastwood feels the most durable to me but not as easy to spray. The VHT does come off pretty easily with just thinner, so keep that in mind. Did our own suspension recently and sprayed it with a gun also using PPG. Nothing beats the durability of a gun sprayed paint vs. spray can.
