    Aftermarket Early 911 Muffler Thread

I know there are many. Here’s a favorite to get things started. I haven’t seen one of these Abarth mufflers for sale for a while. What are your favorites (love ‘em or hate ‘em)?

My car initially came come home with an ANZA system...
Replaced it within days with a used stock muffler, and someone bought the ANZA for $35.00...

    ... and so it goes

above 3k RPMs, an M&K sport (2 in-2 out) is glorious. the drone between 2.5-3k RPMs was really bad though.
my current muffler is a 914-6 werkshop special (2 in-2 out) that's wider than an M&K sport and clearanced at the ends so it fits better behind the rear bumper. the resonance range is much narrower, and the sound is great!

I like trying different muffler options, and the M&K 2 in-1 out and Monty 2 in-1 out are on my list. curious to hear anyone's thoughts on those two options.

    Hi Chuck:

    Same story.

Took me longer but I finally got tired of the lousy sound and Steve Weiner told me I was losing hp, so I found a used Leitzstritz and replaced. Much better.

An Abarth muffler just like the picture was on my 71 911T when I bought the car in 1973. It stayed on the car until I swapped the motor 20 years later. It floated around the shop for years until I finally sold it. It is probably still on a car somewhere. Those things are bullet proof.

The problem with Abarth mufflers is, if they are left unchecked, they tend to multiply.
