1965 Porsche 911 Bosch or Beru ignition ballast resistor

    Hello -
I'm looking for the correct Bosch or Beru ignition ballast resistor part number 901 602 853 00 Bosch or 901 602 852 00 Beru. I have installed on my 911 the Beru 901-602-852-01 which I am told is incorrect.
    Thank you.

Here is the picture out of the 1965 Porsche Workshop Manual of the square resistor above the coil. Not the part with the arrow in the picture.

    Hello,
The resistor in your car is the Beru analogue to the Bosch 1 224 509 056 for Porsche 911 later than November 1967.
According to the Bosch parts list following Bosch coil/ Bosch resistor combination were used:

    coil 0 221 102 006 with resistor 1 224 509 012, 09/64 up to 01/66
    coil 0 221 102 026 with resistor 1 224 509 011, 02/66 up to 10/67 but mostly the Beru resistor with Porsche number 901 602 852 00 was used
    coil 0 221 102 026 with resistor 1 224 509 056, 10/67 up to 09/69 rarely the Beru resistor was used during this period

Here a picture what yours should look like with the Beru resistor:

    Hope it helps.
