Thread: 911 '69-'78 door window frame threaded press inserts

911 '69-'78 door window frame threaded press inserts

Does anyone have any 911 '69-'78 door window frame threaded press inserts ? I need 6
I can't seem to find a part number so don't think Porsche ever sold them separately
These are the externally knurled, internal threaded steel nuts that press into the aluminium door frames so the various parts of the main frame can be bolted together.
Equally if you know somewhere that sells them, then do please send me a link or details.
    Thankyou
    Andrew

You'll need to buy some window frames and remove them. You can't buy them separate. I know because I had King of Trim years ago remove them as part of the refinishing process they do and not return them. They had to have some made to replace mine. Total nightmare. They do better work now but it was a total pain in the ass.

Yep, I know they aren't available from Porsche. That's why I've put a post on here looking for some used ones that have been removed from a frame

Hi Marek, I've had a lot of responses saying they are after the same thing, and so far I've not found a source for any new replacement ones, so have just been focusing on trying to find some used ones. Anyone re-anodising a frame will have needed to remove them. See attached pictures including a picture of the raised profile area inside the aluminium frame double sided gutter section that they press into. There are 6 per frame.
Let me know what you think

Can anyone help who has some of these spare, or maybe a damaged frame they could be simply pressed out of ? I need 6 from one frame.

Call King of Trim. They had some made up and they worked good. They might have more or extras left over.
