69 911E RPM transducer and rear fuse box wiring ?

    Hi all,

I'm trying to make my "stop shut off solenoid" working because I have some backfiring during deceleration and I have some questions about the wiring (car is a 1969 2.0 liters).

Here is what I found in my rear fuse box :

On the picture there is the "other blue yellow wire not connected", this wire is coming from the RPM transducer and it should be connected to the rear fuse box on a non permanent 12V if I'm correct.

So I disconnected the black wire that seems to go to the front of the car (rear window defrost ???) and I connected this other blue yellow wire as shown on the picture below :

Then I started the engine , put 3000 RPM and push the micro-switch : rpm dropped immediately
I try a second time.....no RPM drop anymore

So it worked just one time

Do you confirm the wiring I did is OK ?
What happened, the RPM transducer failed ?

Anyone who have a 2.0 liters MFI 911E who could send me a picture of his rear fuse box connections ?

    It would be great

    Hi,

I was just looking for some other stuff, that I couldn't find any hint on in our German forums when I fell over your thread.
Maybe the attached diagram will help you a little.
I recommend looking for more details about function and testing of the RPM transducer before experimenting any more!

    Thanks Wolfgang,
It is the wiring diagram I'm using.
But as you can see there is 4 fuses on it and I have only a 3 fuses configuration.

As far as I can tell. No backfiring or idling issues, have never had a reason to do any diagnostics on it.

My relatively untouched '69S (1070) looks exactly like Emmcee's picture.

    Ok thanks.

I don't have the red/black wire and that makes sense because my rear window heating is KO.

What I see is both blue/yellow wires are connected together on a non permanent 12V spot.

Here's a photo from my 69 911E. I've got a working micro switch and I think the RPM transducer is good too but, as for the rpm dropping immediately, I can't say it does.
