This is such a great example of documenting a car's history!

As well as a fascinating read, it also points to how careless some people are when describing their cars for sale.

Provenance is king in maintaining the integrity of the cars ...

Thanks for doing this - I'll be making sure I follow your example when it comes to 304598 ...
    1966 911 Coupe - Slate Grey - 304598 - still in restoration!

Thanks for the great stories and exceptional storytelling. It's like listening to good music which, I presume, you must know a thing or two about. Is that what took you to the UK?

Thanks gents... I've got the guidelines from Chuck...
So easy to write a post... hard to edit down to a story... I'm not really a writer... and what is the saying - I wrote a long letter because i didn't have time to write a shorter one (paraphrasing and many attributed authors)...

Again, thanks for the kind words... I used to know a bit about music... at least the sound engineering side of it... never quite made it as a guitarist...

Long story on move to the UK... the short of it is - a life catalyst moment brought on by the much too early terminal illness and death of my older brother at 51... made me stop and ask what did I really want to do and get out of life, since I had just come to realise time is finite... So, after 16 years as a movie sound engineer in LA, a couple of startups, and a stint at Microsoft and Starbucks (Seattle and Paris, France), I came up with a few things to guide me...

    1) I want to be 100% passionate about what I'm doing, otherwise it is a waste of my and others time - and time is finite
    2) I want to be at an entity that is, or can be a leader in it's space - driving the innovation envelope - I love to help deliver the future
    3) In a role where I can make a significant impact - not overly bothered by titles or internal levels anymore
    4) Hopefully where I can continue to learn professionally and personally
    5) With people I like - doesn't mean we have to have sleep over parties on the weekend - just respectful and collaborative
    6) Contribute back to society in some meaningful way
    7) Like the mentors I have had and still am lucky to have... Be a mentor to those that find any benefit from my experiences
    8) Enable diversity, inclusion and belonging... I know that is overused and very recent terminology, and can be polarizing, but I have witnessed too much waste of talent and time, due to a lack of embracing those ideals - I believe diversity and compromise, makes for better outcomes in the long run... And to quote a line from Forrest Gump - "and that's all I have to say about that"

So, with my new found understanding of myself (at least at that moment), I decided I would help digitally transform Formula 1, and in 2009, most of the teams were in the UK, as well as the rights holder (Bernie E)... And my wife, was OK with London... So off to the UK I went to follow my passions... Did that for a short time... Followed by a less than a year side trip to Rio de Janeiro in 2011 to lead sponsor and partner aspects for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and back to the UK - Kent county, in a little town called Sandgate, where my wife and I go back and forth between Cannes, France and Sandgate, UK working for a tech company to help deliver the future...

See, I just can't write in a short style...

But if you trimmed it down, we'd miss several nuggets! No shortage of inspiration there...thanks for that!

Thanks for all the kind words...

    NON-LINEAR LIST OF 911 CARS:

While searching for my race car and even after I found it, I ended up with a number of 911S's of various model years… in no particular order, as I can’t remember the stories of each, and I seemed to be on a crazed addictive buying spree…

Here are photos that I have… In some cases, I have only the CoA (I was obsessed about obtaining CoAs, as I wanted to bring the cars all back to “as left the factory condition”, which didn’t happen in most cases, as I didn’t have near enough the funds or time to accomplish that herculean task…

In order based on model year, body and serial number…

    119300510:

I have no real memory of buying or selling this one, and only have the CoA, no photos, which at least means I know I did own it around 1996 - 97… I seem to recall driving a Blood Orange S a few time out to Paramount Ranch on the back canyon roads for work, but not much more... Be great to know where 0510 ended up...

    119301206:

This one came from northern California, was a non- runner, complete, had a California “black plate ZIC 739” (seen in photo), and I had to trailer it back to L.A. All I have is the CoA, and photos around time of respray… I believe this was sold at Monterey in 1999 or 2000... Drove it a few times when finished, was a lovely car... All major components were completely restored, except the wiring harness left in, and repaired in any areas that were in need... Oh if only I could go back and capture all the details we all look for today...
Love to know where 1206 ended up...

    9112300825:

I bought this car in Phoenix, Arizona… I flew out with a tool box and cash (back when you could carry a tool box on a plane), the owner picked me up at the airport, we ended up doing a deal, and I drove home to L.A. The main thing I remember, was it wasn’t getting full throttle when the pedal was pressed all the way down… A quick adjustment of the pedal stop and the linkage in the engine compartment, and 9112300825 ran OK enough to get me all the way home… The MFI was out of adjustment, and never did run perfect… Strong, but not in spec… Needed to be rebuilt... It was an original silver metallic car, but painted grand prix white, which I liked, so left it... It also had a Moto Prototype and recovered seats... Nice clean 72... this car went to friend...
