    Solex dashpot/damper?

    Looking for a dashpot/damper for my Solex’s. This one on EBay looks pretty close with some minor modifications. Anyone have any better suggestions. Thanks

    The threads are too short.

    Seek:
    • Carter 202-553
    • Carter 202-552
    • Carter 202-541
    • Opel damper P/N: 8.26.924


    The pins on theses may be replaced with the pin on your OEM damper, just pull out your pin & replace pin on replacement damper using a little lube to help.

    By the way, threads are 5/16-24UNF, not metric.

    Can’t seem to find those online, any suggestions on who sells those? Do you by chance know what the length that the threads should be? I don’t have the original one. Thanks

    Ebay is your friend for these, I do not have inventory here to measure the thread length.

    I send photo of one of my restored dampers plus a scan of parts boxes that show those I have sourced along with comments regarding each. The pin on the opposite end of the threaded end may need to be shortened for some of these but that is an easy task.

    I also have a contact name in my file that may be a source for these:
