    PCGB Porsche Championship late 80's

I was a competitor in the PCGB Championships in the late 80's and have a lot of the race correspondence from the club which may be of interest. I have scanned a few of them and uploaded them to a website. I have a lot of various bulletins and will scan and upload them all in due course! The championships were so popular at the time that many people will own cars that have some race history.

    1988 Pirelli Championship https://www.mmclassics.co.uk/pirelli...pionship-1988/
    1989 BF Goodrich Championship https://www.mmclassics.co.uk/pcgb-pr...pionship-1989/
    1989 Autofarm Modified Chamionship https://www.mmclassics.co.uk/autofar...-porsche-1989/

I have lots more items and will scan them and upload in due course.

Steve and Charlotte Mummery were always present and clearly had lots of paperwork as he was editor of Porsche Post during this time ... had a metallic green 3.0 Carrera if I remember ... Took him to Donnington in the wet in the RS one year ... it was wet !!!

I have every edition PCGB PP edition on my shelf - sixties though to the late eighties which these racing series are covered— lots of other interesting info. Some wonderful quite homespun writing. Much better than the lightweight glossy current PP cr@p I receive from club that i quickly bin as chaff

Very interesting read, the amount of RS's competing is fantastic, 15-20! Must have been great fun. And bit more HP found in the RS that was tested on the rollinf road

I wonder if you have any results or details of the car that I’ve owned for the past seven years

It’s a 1973;2.4T. Raced by John Collings and then Bob Mason.

    Hi Dave
John Collings was racing in class D in the 1988 Pirelli Porsche Club GB championship which was for cars up to 140bhp. His was one of 134 entrant registrations from 10 nationalities for the PCGB series that season . Look for car with number 306 in the prior posts … also maybe photos and videos of that season. I assume that’s what might be now your car? Same 1989. I probably will have more info somewhere …

    Best

I have a feeling I’ve posted this elsewhere on this forum a long while back but if not here some TV footage from the super prix held around the streets of Birmingham England 1988
Doesn’t hurt to repost in context of thread as close racing up at front :
