New SSIs on freshly rebuilt 1973.5 T - Rubber Cap?

I installed new SSIs - man are they beautiful! One one side there is a port right by the connector to the flapper box, that is maybe for MFI or pre-heat or something. I know I don’t need that port for my CIS, but is that rubber cap meant to be left there? Maybe HEs don’t get that hot? It would have been smarter for me to ask this before I installed the engine in the car, but got a little too excited in the home stretch. Thanks

There is a port just behind the muffler connection on the left side heat exchanger, the preheat hose to the thermostatic box, and then to the aircleaner would go on that port. CIS doesn't use that. I would visit the hardware store and find a suitable metal plug.

Thanks, Guessing it should not be hard to reach and want to go back in there to check on flapper box stud repair after a few hundred miles anyway.
