Interesting decklid in Werks I parking lot 1964

As the title says, this is an interesting louvred deck lid seen in the parking lot of Weeks I in early 1964.

I've not seen this photo before - does anyone have any more info on the lid?

13324 at the factory had similar cutouts,

I read anywhere, that they experimented with the number of "cutouts" in the engine lid...
but due to january 65, the production with the correct engine lid was already running.

    your picture is from the
"Rallye Automobile Monte Carlo, Porsche 1952–1982" by Patrick Dasse & Maurice Louche.

So it shows 904 start number 150 is 904 006, S-TJ 16, being prepared for the Rally Monte Carlo in January 1965!
You can see this also from the small co driver wiper, which had been extra installed for this very event, due to the expected bad weather. Böhringer / Wuetherich finished 2nd overall.

In the small shot from the same scenario you can see #147, S-UV 333, in the background. Herbert Linge and Peter Falk came fifth overall

    the text says:

other shots from that same day, same scene...

Thanks Haul; I had forgotten the thread you referenced! And yes, that is where the photo I posted come from.

an interesting pic I haven't seen before either
it looks like Sean Connory on the left - maybe researching a new Bond mobile ?
the 901 looks like it has no motor - maybe they sneaked it into one of the 2 904s for an unfair advantage at the Monte ?

    cheers

The 356 in the background, with a luggage rack, is a 2-litre Carrera.
