    Thumbs up Last Monday ...

    Joined the PCA Long Beach Region (GPX) 'Day Away From Work' at the 'Streets of Willow'

    It was a 5 session day at about 10 laps per session...
    The day was cold and bright with not much wind... Perfect track day...

    It was a pretty big registration. Not only Long Beach, but L.A. and Santa Barbara PCA regions were invited as well...

    Out of the 60 cars participating, me and my 4 Early 911 friends were 5 out of a TOTAL of 7 air-cooled 911's ....


    Still recovering from my Dec. 15th left shoulder partial replacement... a full track day was just not in the cards for me...

    An abbreviated 3 sessions of about 18 laps total was all I could manage...


    The track day ended with my Early car friends, a great Mexican meal... and a few beers.....

    Hoping to do better next time....

    When you guys put numbers on your cars are they vinyl that you later peel off or are they magnetic?

    When you guys put numbers on your cars are they vinyl that you later peel off or are they magnetic?
    Lots of different ways to do it...

    I use very thin vinyl with a peel off backing...
    I make a 7 and a 3 cardboard templet, traced around them on to the orange vinyl, hand cut them, peel the backing off the orange and apply...
    After the day, they come off without a trace...

    Lots of hand work... .... but not too bad...

    I hope you guys in the lightweights were able to beat up on the 964.
    Sure... sometimes....

    This is my screen saver from 4 years ago...
    "Try'n to keep younger guys in newer cars behind me"...

    Certainly need a LOT more shoulder healing before any of that goes on again...
