    Porsche non-counterbalanced crankshaft STD.of a racing engine

    Porsche non-counterbalanced crankshaft STD.

    Porsche non-counterbalanced crankshaft used on 1965-71 911/911L/911T carbureted models with 911 S 2.0 Connecting Rod part number 901 103 101 0R.

This crankshaft of a 2,3 L ST many years ago! A lot of work went into balancing the crankshafts and conrods 100% for the high and fast-revving engine, bean in a box for the last 20-25 years! can need a bit of cleanup and new Connecting bearings and connecting rod bolts, The engine was running just amazingly and had no vibration at all up to 8000 RPM and was later built to 2,5 L so this is the way it ended up in a box, one small mark but very small, so, in general, the crank is very good as conrods and other parts on the complete crankshaft and all parts were used for the half-season just.

Correction needed. The non CW crank was only used on the 68-71 911 2.0 and 2.2 liter T engines in production. All other cranks were CW.

Rick is correct! but if you build a small engine up to 2.0-2,3 L and like fast revving this crankshaft with S rods on is fun and gives another feeling, but as we did you need to put some extra work into the balance of the crankshaft. Just take a look at how many new race crankshafts lock these days, and with a light flywheel on this and you will save a lot of weight, This is more for a hot rod build I sholud say but it a small fun engine with carbs.

    Thanks

    This is also true!

Weren't the non-CW crankshaft made of cast steel (not forged)?

Would the 68 911L have the CW crank or the non CW crank ? As the 911L is related to the 911S; would it not have the same crank as the 68 911S ?

thanks Rick-- and the 68 911L would have the non iron cylinders as well like the 911S. Just the 911T got the iron cylinders that turn rusty over time.
