Rear License plate panel and bumper alignment

    I need some expert help

I am putting the finishing touches on my 71. Every gap and panel aligns nicely - but the issue I am having is getting the rear license plate panel to line up correctly. You can also see that the gap between the top of the muffler and the bottom of the rear latch panel is larger on the left side. You can also see from the photos that the gap on the left side - from the bottom of the bumper to the bottom of the license plate panel mount - is longer than the right side. See Green circles. I also measured from the ground up to the bottom of the license plate panel mounting bracket and its off about 4/16 - Red circles

How should I go about correcting this? thoughts? Thanks

The muffler is not parallel with the engine bay jam , so that is not a reference point . I think the other measurements are somewhat meaningless unless the car is on a Celette bench .
I don't see an obvious problem when looking at the picture .

The way I do it is to loosen the 4 engine console bolts to the crossbar and carefully use a floor jack to visually align fit, then tighten the hardware. If that doesn’t work, you have more work to do.
