CLAMP POLICE: one or two Gemi clamps?

I've always seen one clamp on the MFI flapperbox sleeve, but noticed the two clamps on the MFI manual. Anyone's guess?

I’ve observed that one is conventional and seen on new car photos of 72/3 — one seems to work but I didn’t buy my car new so defer to those who were there.

yes, I've never seen an actual engine in-car with two clamps. I've also always wondered why there wasn't a second clamp (secure the sleeve on both sides); As shown in the photo.

Some early pictures show two clamps, but the parts book only called for one.

I’ve often wondered about this as well but the majority of the cars I’ve seen just have the lower clamp. As 911MRP mentions above, guess those who purchased their cars new would have the inside scoop.

Below is a photo from Porsche after they did that 911T restoration a few years back to promote their classic restoration services…

Whenever I want a correct view, I go with the old photos.
Factory brochures, etc. I consider them my best evidence I can get ahold of.
I use them as true north.

Just don’t use that particular brochure for authenticity on the 73 RS final production spec body decals Scott!

yep, me too. Still, as the second clamp makes sense, thought maybe it was the default mounting. But doesn't seem so. I would think the MFI manual (or any part/tool photos) were made during production preparation, so not the exact final spec.
