    Motor wanted

I am looking for a rebuilt or well running motor for a project that is still in its infancy. Would ideally fit a 915 gearbox and wire to a 72-73 harness. So ideally an MFI engine, 2 to 2.7 litres, but could entertain something as “exotic” as a 3.2 Motronic. This will be a rolling project, so it will be driven as it takes shape. The motor will be temporary, but temporary could mean 10 years, so it needs to run well!

Let me know what you have, or if you have some leads.

    Hey Ravi.

I have a ROW, big port 3.0 that recently had top end and head studs replaced. It would be an easy swap into your car, as these CIS cars had no ecu, no computers of any kind, no O2 sensors. Very easy swap.

Best of all, it’s installed in my SC currently so you could drive it before taking it home if you like. I’m in northern NJ. Come down, drive the car and a couple of hours later we’d have it out and you can bring it home.

Let me know if it’s something you’re interested in.

    Hi Ravi,
Have a fresh built 73 2.4E with MFI. Asking $38K if that is what you are looking to spend.

    Hi Bob,

If this were a permanent motor for the car, I'd be interested. But it's really something to allow the car to move under its own power to get to various shops, tune the suspension and otherwise do shakedown cruises while I think about what motor would finally go in the car. This is all, very, very early planning as I don't even have a car, but had a line on an interesting roller so I'm kinda dreaming right now.
