    early targa top 1967-68

From what I figure out and I'm happy to hear from the experts this is an early targa top (1967-68) I have had many tops and still have a few but I never had one like this, I dont know the value but core later tops are selling for $2000-$3000 on Ebay therefore I would like to sell this one for $4000 (firm) plus shipping

I dont know but it is early and I notice the side seals are different, it has a lot of "buttons" on it and it has finger grips in 4 places that later tops do not have. Also the outer vinyl which looks original is a lot smoother than later tops. I looked for a targa top thread where differences are discussed and I cant find any here for example is a later top and a picture of this top for comparison, the later top is I think 69-73

    67 targa top

Here is a 67 soft window targa on bring a trailer and they show the same top as mine the only difference is they used perforated vinyl for the headliner, but the structure is the same and these are totally different than the later tops. When mine gets restored and especially for a 67 and probably 68 have the headliner done in perforated material.

Pretty sure it's a 1968 top, maybe early 69' as well.

-It has the earlier, more heavy duty frame, heavier
-Hence early style side seals and drip rails
-Earlier screw on escutcheons for the release handles
-No vinyl wrapping of the rear folding arms
    -Fuzzy headliner instead of perforated

A September 1967 (68' model year) survivor car I know pretty well is exactly like this one. That car may have had it's top redone. I've heard that perforated headliner may have gone into 68' model year. I've been told that the in some ways the earlier tops are less rare in that they didn't break in the back like the later ones and most of the early cars completely were rusted beyond repair.

rcnagel thanks for the info. If someone put a perforated headliner in this top wouldn't it then be correct for 1967? TO me this one looks exactly the same, as the one I show from a correct 67 car. Also early targas were made in low numbers I dont think early tops constructed like this are to be found in large numbers, I have never seen another one for sale and I have had 20 or so tops over the years, still have 8 or so and this is the only one constructed like this that I have had or seen.
