I have someone wanting to replace their tires on a 73 Targa. Stock 185/70/15 with the Michelin XAX tires. Reasonable price of around $225 each.does anyone have experience with these?

No experience with the XAX’s but I did go through a search for the right period-correct tire for my US-delivered 1968 911 L and landed on the XAS’s which look great and ride well. Here’s the thread with some good discussion about different options as well as a pic of Chester with his new shoes: https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...for-My-68-911L

Thanks for the response. Yes, looks good but the XAS tire was like $425 each!
Sorry, double checked and it was the XWX that was $450 per tire
Yeah, that price looked a bit off … I think I paid something like $225 in the 165-15 N0 fitment but that was almost 2 years ago and I am sure that prices have only popped higher. I know that some guys have opted for Vredesteins at a slightly lower price point and have been very happy so that may be an option. Check out Cocker Tire’s website for a decent selection: https://www.cokertire.com/
