Nick, how long ago did you get your clock converted?

    Phil, definitely not a 911 instrument. Maybe a 914 or 924

Rick- I don’t exactly recall, but something like 4-5 years ago. I had a bouncy tach so I sent all my gauges in for a refresh and service including the clock. I was tired of always needing to adjust the clock as it lost several minutes a day. I tried to adjust it but I never got it right, so I had it converted. The quartz is very accurate

Nick, I ask cuz I just sent a 67 clock to a very good VDO shop on the east coast and they say they can’t get the parts anymore for conversion to quartz.

That’s interesting. I assumed they either just replaced the entire mechanical mechanism with a quartz movement from a newer clock or used the dial and hands from my clock and ditched the quartz face and hands. It’s probably way more complicated than I thought it was. At any rate, Palo Alto did mine and if you need details on cost I can dig out the invoice if you’d like, just PM me. Nick

Try Palo Alto Speedometer. Word on the street is that they acquired a very large inventory of used 911/VDO clocks and instruments from some old fart that was retiring.
