    Targa underdash reinforcement bar

It appears that there was never a mounting bracket to run a tie bar under the dash of my late 69’ 912 Targa. I’m assuming that a bracket would locate where the small rectangular indent lives. Has anyone seen this before and was it just cost cutting or was it deemed unnecessary? thanks!

No worries.. my talented welder made a bracket from a smaller sized piece of tubing inserted into the opening. Will use shims to make up the difference when fitting the tie bar.
