    ‘73 911 door trigger cleaning

It is a small detail but can’t seem to clean the door triggers on my 911. Feels like raised black areas on the chrome. Tried the products I usually use for chrome but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? Stoddard has replacement triggers for $77. Doesn’t bother me that much.

Looks like the chrome has peeled to me.

… seem to recall these “triggers” were revised by making them slightly smaller to avoid sticking partly due to dirt etc accumulating even when new during that period? Probably got a note of that revision detail but came back to mind when I read this.

When I did resto 35 yrs ago handles were good triggers not so good, so I re-plated the triggers only, still look good. Just watch fit when done, as clearances might tighten up with new chrome.
