I have had a small badge made of high quality oil pressure relief valves as they have been used on all RSRs from 2.8 to 3.0 as well as the 914/6 GT models.
The valve consists of a casted alluminum body that has been machined in order to accomodate the internals and to allow the connection of the oil lines. All dimensions have been adapted from the original part - it's a beautiful piece. Opening pressure is around 7bar (approx. 100 psi).

When building a high quality racing engine with the large (and expensive) racing oil cooler, the valve protects the cooler in particular while the oil is still cool and thick which is when the pressure is highest. When opening up the engine lid, the valve is just as prominent as the large twin distributor cap, the smaller fan wheel and all the other wonderful RSR insignia. Asking 490 EUR plus shipping (50 EUR with full insurance and tracking). Parts are located in Switzerland.
