Thread: Spark plugs by year?

    Spark plugs by year?

Is there a table anyway that shows what spark plugs were used by Porsche in each model year. I have hunted on here and BBS912 but can find anything. The PET I have only lists 68/69.

The little spec books have (some of?) that information.

We have gone too all NGK for early cars. I would suggest just looking for their application chart. Back in the dawn of time we did use Bosch, especially their platinum plugs for MFI cars such as 265 P21. That was discontinued decades ago for a newer style platinum plug, such as W3DPO. The newer ones do not work well in older richer running cars which is why we turned to the NGK plugs. Some Bosch charts automatically supersede you to the new platinums, not what you want to use.

    Hi Ed,

Just curious. I am using NGK BPR6ES in my 2.4L CIS motor. Good choice for all round use? They "seem" ok.

To be clearer -I am interested in what the plugs were used in each year and not what modern replacements to use.
