Original Recaro Sport Seat and Rallye 1 Seat

    Hi All,

Up for sale are these beauties.. The Rallye seat is ideal for a tough sporty Porsche driver. The passenger (likely a supermodel) will appreciate a more comfortable Sport seat.

Back in those days most Porsches were equipped with the standard Recaro comfort seats. The Sport seat was a desirable upgrade. Rallye seats were even more rare and mostly used on the tracks. Although these seats were rare, the combination of the two was seen in various rallye cars. Personally I think this set will do very well in any Porsche. The interior deserves as much attention as the outside of the car. So go for it and you will be the king on the next cars and coffee.

The Rallye seat is an original Recaro seat (type 13.00.00), the bucket is intact with no signs of cracks or repairs. The upholstery is original and the corduroy is showing a nice patine grayish color. The black vinyl has one tear due to wear from the seatbelt (see picture). It is not very visible and personally I don't think it is a big deal. The seat comes with the original recaro sliders and a D shaped headrest. The vinyl of the headrest is renewed.

The Sport Seat is a very very nicely preserved example. The seat is an original Recaro and clearly used as a passenger seat because there are minimal signs of wear. The black vinyl bolsters have no tears at all. The vinyl and corduroy seems original and intact. The corduroy has several stains and signs of wear but as mentioned no tears. The bottom straps were disintegrated and therefore renewed. The rails are Recaro. The knobs of both seats are also original and intact.

I have had these seats in storage for a long time I believe they are a nice match because the patine is present on both seats. However the black vinyl of the Rallye seat is a tad different compared to the sport seat (see pictures). Nevertheless seats in this complete original condition are rare.

PS as most of us know these seats are original Recaro's made in the 70's. This set was not present in a Porsche when ordered from the factory. Only Recaro seats without the recaro batch in the backrest are possible porsche recaro seats.

This rare set is for sale for 7200 usd. Shipment is 300 usd per seat.

Feel free to comment on these seats or ask questions. Extra pictures are also available upon request.

    Thank you

Extra pictures on request. This is the only damage I can discern on the black vinyl. The tear is vinyl only, the bucket under the vinyl is not damaged. I don’t think this tear will increase when you use the seat on a regular basis.

The pictures are upside down. My apologies I will correct this after the weekend.

    Hi Uwe

I did not! And you are right there clearly is a difference there. I would guess the yellow circle shows a repaired part with new stitching? I compared both bolsters and I cannot discern any difference between the vinyl so I don’t think it was replaced.

Your comment is very much appreciated. This forum is such a great source of sharing knowledge. I learned so much about various porsche subjects. It is far more important than buying and selling.

Uwe, my guess is the Rallye seat is from an earlier production date (68-70?) because of the slightly different grained vinyl. The Sport seat is obviously a later period seat? The headrests are early model but those can easily be changed along the years.

    Have a good weekend everybody
