    BOAC 1000km original official programmes

Brands Hatch is a great track a natural amphitheatre on the shorter circuit

Programme prices pre and post the £ decimalisation between the two seasons from my personal collection

    Steve,

    Those are GREAT programs !!!!!

As posted before it's the best period poster I own...
It's for the following year... I think they knew they had a good image...
    (actual size 19 x 29)

    It's a trifecta...

No expense spent on new artwork . Agree it is nice image Chuck. I enjoy vintage race programmes much more than posters on walls because of the history in the many pages beyond the pretty booklet cover. Some can resonate. For example when I was working at Lotus we used to supply the Elise product for the long established racing school at brands hatch so a group sone directors used to head down from Hethel on the long sumner evenings of late June after work to enjoy laps with race school staff friends. A Lilly’s tanks fir our support and for us to enjoy our product Perfect way to unwind until the light faded. Then head off to a pub. So it was lively fir me to see this in the five decades’ old programme along with the biro record of the race charts on the pink coloured removable pages on
of centrefold that had been carefully updated — not just the final result but recording positions at X lap intervals suggesting programme was first bought by someone who was following the race in detail form to track displays rubbish trackside loud speakers and pen stop watch long before web made it so easy.

Not nicking nice nice poster artwork in walls but programmes can bring some additional context ans many are decorative even if smaller

    I hear that Steve ....

I was at 3 out of the 4 in the pic...
I wasn't at the '66 Monterey CanAm, but was at Riverside 2 weeks later for their very first CanAm, and my very first spectated road race...

    .... and so it goes
