Thread: What does "SS" mean?

  1. #1

    What does "SS" mean?

I see "SS" used in conjunction with someone's idea of a sport motor but what does it really mean? Something like a "Super-duper S" or is it the abbreviation for Schutzstaffel or Protective Echelon which might imply a particularly "Bad Ass" build?

What I do understand are: T, E, S, L, R, RS, RSR, ST, SC, SCRS, GT and "Normal" but not "SS".

If you're referencing my post Paul,,,

    Short Stroke.

As in 2.5SS instead of the long stroke 2.5.

    I often see "2.8SS". Slang....

Hey, want to come out of antenna retirement?? We're swamped, LOL.

    Hi Michael,

I'm long done with antennas, much happier with Webers. ;-) Thank you for remembering our common background.

Also, SS now makes sense to me, I've seen it for years and just had to scratch the itch.

Now that I know that "SS" stands for short stroke, I wonder what a short stroke 2.5 with S-cams would become, 2.5 SSS?
