911/01 Transmission Questions - Frankenstein Transmission?

I finally got back to working on my core 911/01 transmission teardown and eventual rebuild and have some questions for the transmission gurus on the forum.

As I mentioned in my other post, the mainshaft was not stamped “GA”, but upon disassembly found it was stamped “F B” (The F and B are stamped about ~3/4” apart). Luckily I was able to find a nice “GA” shaft and matching loose gear. All other gears except 2nd match what was expected for a 911/01 transmission "A-FB-O-V-ZA". For gears 3- 5, the fixed and loose gears each have a matching code written on each gear.

    Questions:
The engine will be a stock 2.2L with Zeniths. Any benefit to the “F B” 18:34(?) 2nd gear versus “GA” 18:32?
Both, the “F B” mainshaft and “II F” loose gear don't appear to have any matching code written onto them (no code at all that I can see). I also can’t find a manufacturer stamp or date code. Any chance these are aftermarket?
Both, the “A” fixed and loose gears don’t appear to have any matching code written onto them (no code at all that I can see). Any chance these are aftermarket?

    Thanks for the help.

Dennis, the mainshaft and gears without Getrag or Hurth stampings or pairing numbers are most likely from a 914/4, and made by Volkswagen.
    The 18:34 ratio is a standard "F" 2nd gear.
They're fine to use in an early 911, but make sure that the large 1st gear does not make contact with the IP bearing retainer.

    Thanks Jon!

I'll check on the 1st clearance as you suggested. I didn't even think of the parts being VW, but that makes sense. I appreciate the help!
