What are the part numbers on the stickers? For the rest of world markets pretty sure Bosch H4 were used from March 72 and H4 weren't legal USA. Trying to understand what it says in the listing ?
I have never seen bulb shields on the 4487 or the first H4 headlights.

Here are close up pics of the original Bosch stickers, unfortunately they are still difficult to make out part numbers.
Yes, your comment that H4s were not legal in the USA aligns with the listing description.
My listing description was based on a previous correspondence with S Registry member John Audette.

The NOS 4487 BOSCH Amber lenses I felt were in period but not listed as factory original
The statement in red italics was made in error (multi-tasking) and meant for another post. (FS: Excellent "Original" Bosch H1s.....)

Thanks for posting sticker I can see you are making efforts to list what’s for sale as accurately as you can. As you say the part number on stickers is not clear.
I tried reorientation and making your image monochrome to see if it helps
IMG_0102.jpg
… and an attempt at adjusting contrast etc using iPhone which might make some of part number a little bit clearer:
IMG_0096.jpeg
I’m sure some folks here have more sophisticated ways of doing image enhancement than using iPhone basics but thought it was worth a shot. Last three digits seem to be x01? The x isn’t clear but what can be seen appears to be a rounded shaped digit at top — so unlikely an angular digit like a 1, 4, 5 or 7? While the first four digits are unclear the Bosch prefix 0 301 is often found on Porsche headlamps so is it a reasonable assumption that is the first four digits here are 0 301 ?
So on that basis might the core of these be Bosch part number 0 301 800 601?
There is a Porsche 911 H4 headlamp with number 0 301 800 601 — see example as circled on this modern one found by doing a quick google search on www:
IMG_0101.jpg
If the core of the ones listed is 0 301 800 601 then perhaps they are a combination other parts for example that nos replacement clear e.g. lens that listing says was added might be earlier type than H4? If so such inconsistency is what I (and others) are picking up on hence comments or seeking clarification ? If the number is as being deduced then would expected the h4 lens with pebble and other fittings.
What is written such as “forerunners to H4” and what’s in the posts is confusing — weren’t the immediate forerunners of H4 in Europe the H1 that was first used on just S ?
The H4 was introduced in Europe in March 1972 — this announcement from factory in my reference material is something I’ve shared here previously:

Im wondering if the parts now shown together were a configuration that was originally used together? I wouldn’t claim to be a headlight expert so could be wrong. Open to learn. Are there others knowledgable on headlamps who can chime in to clarify.
However despite being initially interested it doesn’t seem to be what I would want, so I’ll bow out
Hope this questioning and input helps clarify what’s actually on offer.

This is getting silly. There were no original yellow 4487 or H4 lenses. The French versions used yellow bulbs. I’m not confused, the reflectors are not 911 fitment, maybe VW. I have had many sets of NOS and used 4487 Euro headlights, no bulb shields. That’s what makes the 4487 reflectors somewhat rare.

I guess VW reflectors. No need to have head light mounted city lights in early 911s.
The FS listing contains confusing information and not sure what the yellow lens comments is about as images shown is clear not yellow . I was trying to get to bottom of what exactly is for sale.
Hard to tell from what’s posted but per my previous post I wonder if what’s being sold is Bosch 0 301 800 601 but fitted with different lens and other parts . Can’t be sure but I’ve seen and read enough to realise the item is not for me — whatever it turns out to be.
Incidentally there was an uber rare rhd equivalent of 4478. I previously posted pictures of one — a 7045 — that I sold to a very appreciative rhd owner who’d lost his original whilst in spirited drive. I think those who’ve sought a genuine 7045 might describe these rhd variants especially with lens as a “crazy rare”. Without wishing to divert the original FS I still have this rare 7045 with sticker without lens if someone needs such a survivor sept 65 date I think

This discussion has certainly wandered all over the place. Here's what I understand to be true about the earliest H4 headlights:
Lenses
Bosch lenses with script raised on outside of the lens and clear, non-pebbled, tops.
City Light
No city lights as they were located in the turn signals.
Deflectors (Shields)
Present were used on the very early H4 reflector headlights. They were unique to all that followed in that they were riveted:

Bulb Holders
These were unique:

FWIW....
The real deal is highly desirable for an Carrera RS and I've been trying to put together a set for many years. I'm managed to accumulate one reflector, two shields and two bulb holders. It's very difficult to find reflectors without the hole for the city lights.
Cheers,
John
