    WTB: Oil Cap for ‘72 911

    Looking for an original oil cap for ‘72 911 as shown in the following photos. Thank you!

    mine has `oil` stamped on both sides of the handle; is it a newer version? cliff

    67 911 de Luxe, 356 B silver metallic / brown interior, ( buck skin really ) 67 PORSCHE [ built ] 912, Crystal blue, black interior, 72 T, Silver metallic/black interior, appearance group,factory AC.

    Hello Cliff. Thanks for the posting. Hopefully the experts will weigh in and correct me if needed, but the factory ‘72 oil caps I have seen only have OIL (or OEL) on one side and an orange OIL sticker on the other. They attach to the tank neck with a bladed connection (like the photo in my original posting). I have also seen caps with OIL on both sides (including my ‘85 shown in the photos below), but they use a crimped rim to connect and therefore not suited for a ‘72.

    Here is a picture on my 72 T. I’m sure I bought this back in the early 90’s along with a new dip stick! The one that came with the car in 92 is floating around my garage, somewhere. I’ll be on the look out now for comparison.. cliff
