    FS: @pcarmarket.com - 1969 Porsche 912 1720 engine

I'm auctioning my 1969 912 engine, and it is now live on PCarMarket.com until November 20. You can find it at the following link:

    https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/p...pe-616-engine/

I originally installed it in my 1957 Speedster and ran it for 12 years using 356 parts, such as 356 sheet metal and electricals. The engine was built by my mechanic, a free-lancer who has performed work at Roads Scholars in Durham, European Coachworks in Greensboro, and Carolina Coach Crafters in Mooresville. Some of the parts that required specialized attention, such as heads, crank, and case were worked on by professionals who offer their services through the 356 Registry club mag. I put about 6500 miles on it, and it performed flawlessly while in my car, a testament to the fine work that went into it.

In 2017 I removed the engine to install a proper 356 Normal engine in my Speedster, and I stored the 912 in my climate-controlled garage to keep it as a spare for both my 356 and my 912.

I no longer have need for a spare, and so in 2023 my mechanic friend and I re-commissioned it using its 912 sheet metal and other parts to make it a stock 912 power plant (with an NPR 1720 overbore kit).

Check out the videos on the auction to see it running. If you need an engine, this is a good one!

Shipping will be at the expense of the buyer; seller will assist in arranging for its shipment.
