How was the homologation of the bars regarding the rear seats? I read on the Spanish forum that Matter manufactured bars for the 964 RS that allowed 'keeping the 4 seats,' while other bars could only be homologated for 2. I would like someone to expand on this information as I find it interesting. In our case, our vehicle's technical specifications state that it has 4 usable seats since the vehicle entered Spain. If I understand correctly, it had a bar at that time (does that mean it was meant to have the 4 seats?) If so, then I would know that my vehicle had a bar for a car with a sunroof, which would make all 4 seats usable. This should narrow down my search, but due to my lack of knowledge on this topic, I'm sharing what I believe in case someone can help me. There's a vehicle in the Canary Islands that, due to having 'bars,' is only homologated for 2 seats. So, why is there a difference between my vehicle and its bars and others regarding the homologation of the rear seats?

I have somewhere in my paperwork the "Technischer Prüfbericht" for the Matter roll bar edition 1971, 1975 or 1976 (I'm not sure) where it is written, that the paper documents of the car must be changed to a 2 seater car if roll bar installed. I'll try to find the documents during Christmas holidays.
Your combination sunroof and roll bar is really strange as according to the Porsche spare parts list it was not possible/allowed. In consequence I think your car had a customised roll bar, but who knows? Any time period pictures of the car showing the roll bar?

This car entry no 136 in 1971 RAC international rally.
Doesn’t show mount but part of the rollover protection bar can be seen through window. Car is rhd and its listed driver Dan Marguiles was classic car dealer in central London. My hunch is likely ALEYBARS rollover protection was used rather than Matter in such an early 911 prepped in UK? I think well known motorsport outfit of that era Stanley Mann were involved?
Dan Marguiles entered various races and rally’s including the Targa Florio on occasion later took a rhd first series white with blue M471 RS to the last running of Targa Florio in 1973. That RS is well known in UK community and is still around — think it’s was (still) for sale at UK specialist when I last saw it at Castle Headingham event in September?
The Racing Car show in Olympia London was a high profile annual event. In the seventies it was tradition to have scantly dressed females promoting product on trade stands. ALEYBARS representative pictured here in the mid seventies was fully clothed but the fact there was a “Miss” poll and it was picked up in press at the very much the male chauvinistic culture of racing in the era.
