    Removing switch stalk

I would like to have the stalks of my switches re chromed. Is grinding off the rivet (see picture) all it takes?

Also what goes bad in a switch or is a good clean and checking the wires all it takes?

Btw if there is a company providing this service I would be interested to know as well.

    Thanks

Regardless whether it’s correct, has anyone ever taken one apart?

    alternatively
you can sand down the finish on your stalk
take it thru the sand paper stages
    them metal polish
you will have a very bright shiny stalk
