    Tire Shipping Advice

I must send four tires from New York to Miami. What is the best way to package them and what is the most efficient carrier? I remember several years ago receiving a number of tires that were simply wrapped with wide clear plastic tape so as to resemble donuts. Is this still an acceptable form of packaging? If so, should the tires be wrapped individually or combined in groups of two? Should I use UPS, FedEx or some other carrier? All experiences and suggestions are invited as this is new territory for me.

When I purchased from Longstone they came as you describe not fully wrapped but, strips of wrap placed through the tires and the wrap held 2 tires together, I think 3 or 4 strips to combine 2 tires together, Shipped usps

The big tire shippers get away with putting labels right on the tires and shipping them. My experience is it doesn't work for your average shipper. The only thing I found that works short of boxing them is to wrap them in a black trash bag, and then do several bands of tape around them, securing the label and the bag.
