Does anyone have experience with black anodized trim like on the 74/75 Carrera?

Sort of like steering wheel recovering. Nobody can make it look oem.

I have a friend who builds race cars and has used Cerakote on raw headers. It’s held up unbelievably well. The headers are on drag racer running on alcohol.

I’ve also read where it has been used as an alternative to anodizing.

Black anodized trim is simply an anodize that is colored. You see stuff that is red, yellow, etc., pieces of anodized aluminum all the time. So, any commercial shop that does anodizing can do your black anodizing.

I believe this is 67S trim restored by KoT. Very nice and correct restoration.

KoT did all the replating on my '69 resto about 5 years ago. They did a great job. No problems.

KoT lost the part I sent them many many years ago. Never would consider them again.

Have done a LOT of clear anodizing recently and used Anodozing Industries in Alhambra CA with great success.

Also have done some chrome plating on SWB parts with General Brite in Los Angeles -- they do a lot of work on concours cars. Very pleased with results.

Anyone with KoT bright dip anodizing 1968 door frames? I have a set that's been polished and I'm getting ready to ship them off.
