    US vs European headlamp mounting

    Hi,

First time post here :-) I am helping a friend to restore his 911.

The car is a US '70 version.

Question is: If you exchange US headlamps (the ones with the thick chrome ring) to European (the ones with slim chrome ring) does one need to modify the bodywork? Is there a difference in mounts for the European headlamp?

from experience: No need to modify bodywork at all if you move from “USA sugar scoops” to European H4s (Or more sensibly, to LED … see Audette collection). 10 minute job.

No differences that I know of --- and I'm assuming the plug and wiring are the same

    I have a '70 that came with Euro headlamps, H1s . . .

Sometimes you have to bend back one of the seal beam mounting tabs. When installing the light make sure the adjustment screws don't contact one of the mounting tabs.
