Gauge wiring size questions - 1971

My fuel level gauge stopped working so I'm sending it and a few other gauges off to North Hollywood Speedometer for refurbishment. At the same time I'm taking the opportunity to fix some of the scary wiring behind them. I've ordered a new illumination bulb harness, new bulbs, new seals for the instruments, and an inline fuse harness from Audette Collection... the last one mostly because I see evidence of a "thermal event" at some point, as the ground wire on the back of the tach has a melted area of insulation (tach works fine) and it seems that the illumination bulb sockets are missing on the speedometer. So, I'm planning to make some new sections of ground wiring but I was wondering if someone could tell me what gauge of wire (as in American Wire Gauge) I should use? I'm guessing 16AWG. Also, what size of spade terminal receivers should I buy to do the daisy-chaining? Does anyone make a reproduction grounding harness?

Regarding the speedo, I think it's the illumination sockets that're missing if I'm reading the SL39 wire harness correctly, and from looking at the front face since I see I have a mostly white wire present but not a black with blue stripe going to the speedo. If that's the case then my new harness should fix that but then I'll want to remedy what I think is a broken socket for the low beam (parking light?) indicator (physically seems to have been damaged at some point). Are the bulb sockets something that can be bought separately? I might want to replace some of the other lights like the one on the top of the tach (tach is rotated so 7k rpm is vertical, so the "top" of the tach is actually on the left side of the image).

Well, I think I may have answered my own question in a way, since I found these guys: https://911highvoltage.com/products/...-sub-harness-1

Is the SWB ground daisy-chain the same as a LWB?
