    Compression #'s on 73E engine

    What would the experts think normal compression numbers would be on an excellent running, well maintained 73E 2.4 MFI with 150K miles?

    Hi Bobby, I only do leak down tests which I would expect to be 15% or less and the more even across cylinders the better. But cranking compression should be in the 120 psi range (give or take maybe 15 psi either way) and again, the more even the better.

    Thanks Ed. Hope you're doing well. Really enjoyed meeting you at the 2008 Parade in Charlotte. I recently acquired a 73 E that had been in storage for 6 years. I'm resurrecting it. Running incredibly well after a ton of work. Will check compression soon to get a base line. Thanks for your expert advise.
