Thread: Seat Belt Mounting Bracket

    Seat Belt Mounting Bracket

I have in hand the left and right seat belt mounting brackets from SMC (901.521.043.00 and 901.521.044.00).

I cannot find the spec on the proper bolts to use to attach these to my seat rails. Also, can someone post a pic of the proper mounting orientation?

    Cheers!

The universal seat belt bolt is 7/16" SAE fine thread bolt. Perhaps year of car and picture of parts you have, and picture of what you're trying to attach to will help.

If I remember right, it is a special very short bolt that attaches the seatbelt flange to the uprights which are bolted thru the seat slider rail bolts You also nee a large wave washer. The bolts that Stoddard sells are the right pitch and size but are way too long If you advertise for some here, I am sure someone will have them
I will see if I can dig up a picture for you.

    Thanks, Rick

You could get the Stoddard's and cut them down. Put them in a vise and run a die all the way down. Cut to the right length and run the die off.

The standard seat rail bolts are used.

I used a slightly longer bolt - M6x22 to allow for the thickness of the seat mount crossbar and the washer plate that I chose.

FWIW, those bolts were also used to plug the threaded holes for inertia reels in 69 to 71 911s and 912s that came to the US. Look for them in the rear wheel wells just forward of the wheels.
