    Original steering wheel???

I wonder if this steering wheel is original or recent. It seems to be a VDM but no year. We usualy see the year and month. The seller tells it comes from a 65 car.
    What do you think?

It is not a wheel from '65 as those have an aluminum frame which is visible along the inside circumference. At least on 356s, VDM wheel date codes start with the year so the 84 corresponds to April, 1968.

68 would be rare as 68 had no wood dash unless ordered special which may have a wood wheel too

I think wood wheels were dated if originally fitted, not dated if sold through the network like this one. I have three now and they are all dated.

Lots of variations. My fall '68 912 has a dealer installed wood wheel ($48.00). It has a date over struck 3-times; 3,5 and 9 67 on the hub. As well as an 802B stamp.

My original aluminium steering wheel has numbers 3463. May somebody tell which year it corresponds?
