    Casually looking for a Cayenne

Hey guys, I don't allow myself on the bird these days. IDK if any of you know whether a 2010 Cayenne or there abouts is a really, really bad idea or not. I'm just not inspired by many cars anymore and I need to replace my XJ Jaguar for a number of reasons. One of those is I can't reach the ticket machine at parking lots. Bad shoulder. Never could with any of the 7 Porsches that I owned, but now at old age it's even hard to get in and out of one.

Advice and leads, if any, are appreciated. I'll subscribe to keep up. Might even hear from some old P-car world friends.

A senior Porsche dealership manager recently told me to avoid any Cayenne before the 2019 model year.

Take care that the V8 will start without any issues. Older models have a leaking coolant line that will manifest in bad cranking. The cost to fix that is about 2000€
My Wife was looking for a Cayenne / Q7 / Touareg / X5 a couple of years ago.
All V8 Cayennes I looked at had the problem.
    Ended up with a X5

Thank you. Generalized but it's good to hear opinions. I can talk myself out of one easily but there's not much else that I would even look at. I know how good Honda and Toyotas are but I just don't want one.

Just info for your search, Ive had two 2014 VW Touaregs, one V6 gas and one TDI, and loved them. Virtually same as a Cayenne but less to maintain. Ive put 100K on them combined and have nothing but positive experience. Our use is DD, mountains, snow, and some off road, and towing a travel trailer. They were both very low mileage cars when I got them and we maintain the IAW factory recommendations except all oil changes on 5K. Pretty reasonable on the used market. Good luck.

I had a 2016 (V6 w Turbo) Cayenne GTS and I did not have a single problem in 4 years. It didn't sound as loud as the prior V8 nor my current GTS V8, but it was plenty quick, felt noticeably lighter, and didn't eat so much gas.

I've had a 2016 Cayenne (base) for 5 years. No issues. Comfortable and enjoyable. Regular maintenance like any car. Best of luck in your search ... I'm sure lots out there.

    I'm on my 5th Cayenne
06 S had coolant pipe issue but Porsche paid for it - sold it
11 S with Air Suspension - we were T-bone but it kept us safe - airbag deployed. It was just repaired due to tree limb landing on it .... Air Suspension questionable long term ...
16 Base - leased and returned - no issues towed GT3 many times , RS a few times and my wife Macan once (returning north from TX)
16 GTS - had it for only a few months and then it was totaled by a bloody big deer (that also was totaled) - kept me safe , drove well - not too economical
16 Diesel - god I wish I had got one earlier - bought at 40K miles has 108K now and is just superb cruiser ....

Cayenne Diesel eat the miles - just did 2 roundtrips to Jersey City to pick up and drop off one of our nephews who's over from UK in college. 270 mile roundtrips over 30+ mpg and 5 hrs driving in heavy traffic each trip ...

Find a Diesel and run it into the ground .... change oil every 5k miles - fuel filter every 10K miles. get a proper alignment done and you'll be surprised how well they handle / drive...
